Delivering Savior, as an act of submission, I give You my life to use for Your purposes. Take my hands and use them to demonstrate Your love. Take my feet and march them out as a part of Your army at war with evil. Take my mind and renew it with thoughts that are holy and pure. Take my spirit and call it to life so it will be conformed to Your will. Take my depression/hopelessness and replace them with hope and the promise of better times. Take my poverty and make me rich in Your blessings. Take my sickness and restore me with Your strength and perseverance. Take my weariness and burdens and bear them for me so I can catch my breath. Take my sins and cover them with Your blood shed to set me free from the power of sin and its associated punishment. Take my imperfect love and make it unconditional like Yours. For I no longer want to be a source of grief but one in which You’re proud.
You’ve encouraged me to offer myself as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to You. Your wish is for me to no longer be conformed to the ways of the world, but allow myself to be transformed in my thoughts and actions by Your love. As I allow myself to be molded into Your image, I will be able to test what is Your good and perfect will. I acknowledge that part of the change will involve coming down from my “high horse” and humbling myself in order to grow my faith. I must no longer see myself as a “loner”, but part of a larger body … fit and equipped to do Your will. I must actively search out my gift(s) and begin using them for the furtherance of Your Kingdom. Daily, I must make a decision to lay aside my desires to follow You … putting all of my energy and resources at Your disposal. In offering myself to You, I do not want to hold anything back.
In return for offering my life to You, I am trusting that You have a plan for it. To live out this new life, my thought processes must change, the way I react to things/events must change and my motivations must change. A life submitted to You lives to honor and obey You in all things. It is easy to submit myself to You because You want what’s best for me. Through Your sacrifice, You’ve created possibilities for my life that never existed before. I no longer want the corrupt or vulgar ways of sin and the world to influence me. Instead, I want Your goodness to permeate every part of me so I will possess pure motives and act in loving ways. I do not want to put on a “false veneer” that seems good but pride, covetousness, selfishness, stubbornness and arrogance hide in my shadow. I truly want the effects of being born again … with a new mind, a new heart and a new spirit attuned to You. Take my life, O Lord, and transform it into being more like Yours. And it’s in Jesus’ name I pray. AMEN!!
Romans 6:13 Do not offer the parts of your body to sin, as instruments of wickedness, but rather offer yourselves to God, as those who have been brought from death to life; and offer the parts of your body to him as instruments of righteousness.
