Walking in Liberty

O Liberator of My Soul, having walked in bondage in the past, I am truly blessed to be able to walk in the liberty wherewith You have set me free.  Until I met You, I wandered around aimlessly … without direction or purpose.  But now, I’ve found my way and I no longer lack purpose because I have a calling. My sin-stained soul has been washed clean in the waters of Your righteousness.  Instead of helplessly accepting defeat, You’ve shown me how to become an overcomer.  Rather than an inheritance of eternal death, I now possess eternal life.  My sadness has been replaced by a perpetual and abiding joy. No longer do I flounder with life’s problems because I have Your Wisdom and guidance to show me the way.  In Your love, I no longer feel worthless and of little value.  As time passes, I am mastering the skills to navigate life successfully.  I can now avoid the traps of my enemies and my faith is growing stronger.

No longer do I walk in darkness because, in Your light, I am able to see Your way and Your will more clearly.  Whenever I tend to drift away from You, I feel the hand of the Holy Spirit leading me back to the better path.  The clouds of confusion no longer have a place in my life as I walk in the “Son-light”.  Where fear once paralyzed my abilities to cope and sent me scurrying for cover, I now feel bold and stand proudly on the Rock of My Salvation.  In place of fear, faith is growing in my heart as I learn to trust You more.  My selfishness has started to give way to selflessness and my desire to serve others is growing stronger.  My weariness from carrying the burdens of life has become easier since I let You become my Burden Bearer.  My distress over life events has been offset by relief and deliverance from them.  Rather than my life being tossed about, I am able to rest in the peace and quiet of Your arms.

In the liberty of Your love, the emptiness I once felt has been replaced by fulfillment and contentment as I’ve come to rely on You.  In my past, I tended to doubt Your faithfulness and promises, but now I’ve found the ability to trust and believe that You will always be there for me.  The resentment I once felt toward others who treated me badly has been replaced with forgiveness and a desire for reconciliation.  I’ve come to understand that to whom much is given, much is expected.  In my new life of liberty, I’ve gone from lacking in many areas of my life to feeling that it has been filled with an abundance of blessings.   The false pride I once felt about myself and my accomplishments have turned into humility, realizing I am nothing without You.  How wonderful it is to walk in the liberty You won for me.  And it’s in Jesus’ name I pray.  AMEN!!

John 8:36 So if the Son set you free, you will be free indeed.
