With a Thankful Heart

Praise be to You, Almighty God, for You have been faithful and generous is dispensing Your blessings to me.  As a result, I will praise You throughout my day … to the greatest extent that I can … and, with abundant joy in my heart.  I believe that worship and praise, for Your many benefits, must be woven into the fabric of everything I do.  You should never be relegated to the leftovers of my time.  In order for my cries to reach Your throne, my requests along with praise stemming from a thankful heart, should be offered to You continually.  In so doing, when I pray to You, I should be willing to praise You regardless of what Your answer might be.  Each day I will strive to find more time to talk with You and praise You for the things You have done to enrich and improve my life.  My hope is in You alone and I will praise You for Your promises which offer me hope.

Your Word reminds me to continually offer You the sacrifice of praise.  Each day I must focus on You and follow Your leading.  My goal must be to share with others how to form a lasting relationship with You.  My heart’s desire is for all of my family and friends to profess their allegiance to You and follow in Your footsteps.  How full of joy and goodness life would be if I could enter Your presence with thanksgiving, lifting up praise to the One who sustains my life.  For You are good … Your mercy is everlasting … and Your truths endure the passage of time.  As I think more about the impact You have had on my life, I am compelled to thank You more and more.  As Your child, I should spend my days joyfully expressing my  gratitude for the fact You have met all my needs.  I must not selectively sneak in opportunities to thank You for the good You bring into my life … instead, being thankful throughout my day.  It is only when I feel gratitude for Your presence in my life that I feel free and complete.  I give You praise because You saved me from Hell and forever sit upon Your throne awaiting my arrival.

Each day as I awake, I am thankful that You have a mission for me to accomplish … whether I like it or not.  Service to You and others lies at the heart of Your commands.  I am particularly appreciative for the gift of the Holy Spirit who reminds me of that fact and shows me how to accomplish it.  Because of Your goodness to me, my heart continually cries out … Holy, Holy, Holy … Lord God Almighty … awesome are Your works and the kindness of Your heart.  If I am to truly love You, I must take up my cross and joyfully undertake the fulfillment of Your wishes for me each day.  I know that my praise is one of the highest acknowledgements that I can give to You.  Out of my innermost being, I want my praise to be lifted up to You out of a thankful heart.  And it’s in Jesus’ name I pray.  AMEN!!
