O Gracious Lord of All, it is You who has lifted me up from my fallen state and taken me into Your heart. You go wherever I’ve gone and You’ve interceded whenever I called out to You. You have brought peace and prosperity into my life. Like a tree, You planted me in good soil and nourished me through the words You speak. You have shielded me from the attacks of my enemies and shown me how to resist the Evil One. By relying on You, I’ve gained access to the benefits of safety and rest. When I find myself lacking, You’ve met my needs. When I’ve been confused, You’ve given me wisdom and direction. When I’ve been weak, You’ve filled me with Your strength and lifted me with Your love. You’ve taken me from being impoverished to being an heir. You have blessed me with goodness as I’ve followed in Your ways. As I learn to emulate Your example, You can show me how to overcome the things I will face.
You have been tender and caring toward me like a father who esteems his son. And, if I do wrong, I know You will chasten and correct me. I pledge to neither hide nor run from Your correction and, instead, use it to motivate me to become better. I know that as I follow You, my life will be filled with blessings and good fortune. I sometimes wonder … what have I ever done to deserve such loving and kind treatment? The simple answer is … it’s not what I’ve done or failed to do (because I know my faults and weaknesses), but it’s You that has made a way for goodness and mercy to become integral parts of my life. For my sake, You gave Yourself as an offering so I could inherit eternal life. In turn, Your expectation is that I will listen to what I am told and do as I am asked. If I live for myself, I will reap the rewards of that life but, if I live for You, I will reap the rewards that only You can give.
Help me always acknowledge You in all that I do. I want my life to be a witness of Your kindness and love. I am comforted by Your words which reassure me that You will never leave or forsake me. I rejoice in knowing that You’ve left me an example of how to live and given me the privilege of working with the Holy Spirit. You have filled my life with richness and joy as I travel life’s road. Things around me change all of the time, but I adjust to them more easily when You are there to help me. I can never conceive of a life without You. I shudder at the thought of experiencing a day where I cannot feel Your presence. That is why I will continue to strive to live a life for You and run the race You’ve given me with diligence and perseverance. As I go through life, I will take comfort in knowing that You will be with me always. And it’s in Jesus’ name I pray. AMEN!!
Hebrews 13:5 … because God has said, “Never will I leave You; never will I forsake You.”
